Penis size is a common source of anxiety in men. Whether it stems from a lifetime of mates “big dick” bragging or porn-induced comparison, some men become so anxious about their penis size that it leads to erectile dysfunction. Despite research suggesting an average flaccid penis length of 3.6 inches with a girth of 3.7 inches, and the average erect penis length sizing in at 5.2 inches with a girth of 4.6 inches, you’re still entitled to an opinion of bigger is better. So, can you really increase your penis size? Here’s our take on the penis enlargement products out there.

Penis pumps

Penis pumps, also known as vacuum pumps, vacuum erection devices and ED pumps, are a short-term option to max out your penis size and treat erectile dysfunction. Through the power of suction, blood is drawn to the penis to form a pseudo-erection for the purpose of sex, however there’s little evidence to suggest penis pumps work as a long-term penis enlargement option. Plus, they’re known to cause side effects of penis injury and can be a little awkward during intimate situations.

Penis extenders

Close relative of the penis pump, penis extenders claim to elongate the penis by physically stretching tissue in the penis. But do they work? This tiny study on 15 men examined a penile traction device called the Andro-Penis, finding it could add 0.9 inches of flaccid penis length after six months of use at four hours per day. That’s a minimum of 720 hours with your penis in an extender device to gain just over half an inch. We’ll let you decide if penis growth is worth the leg work.

Penis growth pills

Also known as penis enlargement pills, penis growth pills boast an ingredient profile of vitamins, minerals, herbs, and hormones that claim to enlarge the penis. The elephant in the room of penis growth pills is that they’re unregulated and lack any research relating to efficacy or safety. So, while they may work temporarily to make your penis bigger, they’re not a permanent fix and the ingredients could cause more harm than good, especially if you’re currently on other medications. Five words when it comes to penis growth pills: speak to your doctor first.

Liposuction

By removing fat from the area around the abdomen, liposuction can provide an appearance of more penis, or in some cases liposuction can reveal what’s called a buried penis. In all honesty, if this is the route of penis enlargement that resonates with you, you may be better off trying exercise to shed a few kilos of unwanted body fat. You may just achieve a similar or better result sans surgery.

Penis enlargement injections

Through the power of penis enlargement injections, fat from another part of your body can be injected into your penis to increase girth. Alternatively, a particular ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone can be snipped to increase length. Both these options sound painful. Again, speak to your trusted medical professional for personalised advice.

Penis lengthening surgery

Penis lengthening surgery is an invasive, high-risk option to increase the size of your penis. The surgery involves severing a suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone (ouch!) to allow the penis to hang lower. Skin from the abdomen is then placed onto the penis shaft to allow for the new length. After surgery, the recovery stage requires men to suspend weights from their penis to prevent the body from healing and reattaching the cut ligaments. Due to the high-risk nature of penis surgery, this form of penis enlargement is rarely recommended.
